Hello! This is Jessica Vellela, the first American-born woman to become an Ayurvedic Physician and practice independently in India, and Eric Grasser, an Integrative Physician and one of the world’s leading experts on Functional Medicine and Ayurveda. Together, we’ve developed this program based our research, practice and experience of working with patients and clients to transform health effectively and easily. WEEK 1: Introduction
This week covers the overview of the entire course and the interactive format that we’ll follow. We’ll talk about the basics of Ayurveda and Functional Medicine and discuss why they’re so powerful together. Identify your primary obstacles to health, measure your current state of health and tune-in to your body’s important cues that signal when it’s time to make adjustments.
WEEK 2: Environment
How does your environment affect your health, and why? Learn to recognize your geographical environment, season and sources of pollution, and determine their effects on your current health. Remove possible sources of pollution from your immediate environment and make adjustments to create your healthiest space.
WEEK 3: Relationships
Our daily interactions can have profound effects on our health. Learn how to best handle various relationships and encourage positive health for yourself, your loved ones and community.
WEEK 4: Mind & Spirit
Sometimes we choose our mental state, and other times it chooses us. Learn the importance of training the mind and techniques to create a source of daily rejuvenation in your life.
WEEK 5: Sleep
Sleep is closely connected to all other aspects of life and can be influenced positively or negatively by other circumstances. Find out how to create a positive cycle of healthy sleep and create a strong foundation to enhance every other aspect of life.
WEEK 6: Exercise
With the right exercise, a person can become invincible! Too little or too much can lead to imbalance. We’ll learn how to recognize the right amount, personalize it, and discover your best types, times and duration.
WEEK 7: Routines
If variety is the spice of life, then routines are the solid foundations for creating health. We’ll discuss several types of routines, and when to follow each, and how to best use them.
WEEK 8: Digestion
The key to life-long health is balanced digestion. We’ll help you determine what your individual type may be, how to protect it and how to enhance it.
WEEK 9: Diet & Food
This week we’ll shed some light on more than just what foods to eat, but also explain the who, where, when, why and how for using them in best way possible for you.
WEEK 10: Immunity
With good health comes great immunity. Depending on your innate constitution, you may be pre-disposed to a certain level of immunity. Learn how to enhance it and make it the best it can be.
WEEK 11: YOU
Finally, we’ll work on identifying your natural constitution and your current state of balance or imbalance. Learn the most complete definition of health from Ayurveda (and the world’s father of surgery), and how to measure it on yourself.
WEEK 12: Review
We’ll wrap up all of our knowledge, learning and practices with a final review. When imbalance starts, what do we do first? How can we apply what we’ve learned to stop imbalance early and restore our natural health?
What to expect

Each week, you can expect to spend at least two hours reading and reviewing the content. That includes the weekly emails, the workbook lesson, answering the questions, doing the activities and watching the video. More active practice will give you better results.
